The transition to a low-carbon economy represents an unprecedented challenge for businesses and institutions. It is both an economic and social priority because the costs of a swift transition are significantly lower than those of an inconsistent response that does not align with scientific recommendations.

Business models must undergo profound updates, as well as value determination methods capable of integrating sustainability across supply chains, and collaboration and alliance options between economic and institutional actors. This transformation will not be possible without two key enabling factors. First, the selection of the most suitable technologies. Second, rapid access to public and private financing sources that can recognize and support business choices ensuring long-term competitiveness and sustainability.

For Italy, this represents a major opportunity that could lead, on one hand, to the strengthening and modernization of financial offerings for businesses and, on the other, to the consolidation and innovation of the country’s productive structure.
